Telecom Services
Telecommunications services are offers voice and data services over a large area. The most common form of telecommunications service is phone service, which is done on either a wired or wireless standard. Other services may include Internet, television, and networking for businesses and homes. These services may not be available in all areas or from all companies. The pricing points for the different services vary widely and may be different for residences and businesses.

The telecommunication sector is made up of companies that make communication possible on a global scale, whether it is through the Internet or the phone, through airwaves or cables, through wires or wirelessly. These companies created the infrastructure that allows data in words, voice, audio or video to be sent anywhere in the world. The largest companies in the sector are telephone (both wired and wireless) operators, cable companies, satellite companies, and internet service providers.
Every wave of innovation gives opportunities to rebalance strategies. The CSPs should adopt a four pronged strategy to regain the market position. Today’s service providers are confronted by radical changes to their business environment, and while they have been largely working to create leaner operations, the mechanics of doing business has changed over the years leading to transformations in the business model. CSPs are fast transforming themselves from a legacy communication service provider to an IP broadband, cloud and IT platform provider with greater focus on a business segment. The traditional services would now contribute to roughly 38% of the total business and the focus would be more on the next gen services which would include wireless, hi-speed internet, OTT/IPTV, IoT, hosted VoIP among others.
